Srinagar, April 30: EJAC has strongly opposed the order of the central government issued by the Ministry of Personal, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personal and Training in consequence of which all the service matters of employees of JK have been shifted to Central Administrative Tribunal, Chandigarh.
In a statement to news agency KINS, EJAC President Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam has termed it quite unfortunate and said that such an order is totally unjustified and is unacceptable to the employees of the JK.
He said that such an order is unwarranted and will further complicate the situation of the thousands of employees whose cases are pending in courts for a very long time. “Such an order will not only delay justice to the employees but will also be too costly for the employees as the majority of the service related cases belong to the class IV employees and daily wagers who on a meager salary hardly make their two ends meet ” he said.
Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam also highlighted that the Jammu Srinagar highway is usually closed for most of the time due to landslides or other issues and the airplane tickets are skyrocketing and thus in such a scenario to reach the tribunal on a given date or time will be almost impossible for the employees. He further added that the traveling, lodging and boarding costs will be too expensive for the employees to bear who are already bearing the burnt of various types of costs related to their cases.
He urged the central government to revoke back the order and instead establish the tribunal in JK so that the employees will get speedy and cost effective justice.
