Kulgam police arrests 02 cattle thieves, stolen cattle recovered

May 29: Police in Kulgam solved cattle theft case reported to Police Station Qazigund and have arrested two accused persons involved in the commission of crime. Stolen cattle have also been recovered by the officers.

Police Station Qazigund received a complaint from one person identified as Rameem Mandher (Nomad) resident of Kotwal Chali, Rajouri that some unknown persons stole his sheep.

Subsequently, case FIR No. 158/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Qazigund and further investigation was set into motion.

During the course of investigation, investigating team headed by D.O PP Mirbazar under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund arrested one accused person. He has been identified as Owais Ahmad Khanday resident of Danew Bougund Kulgam. Officers were able to recover stolen sheep worth lakhs on his disclosure in the cowshed of Imtiyaz Ahmad Parray resident of Bhan Ashmuji Kulgam. Both the accused persons have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. Officers also learnt about the use of an Auto bearing registration number JK18B-4514 in the commission of crime. The said Auto has also been seized.

Community members have applauded the efforts made by the Kulgam Police in solving the case. We assure community members that police have resolved to act tough against individuals involved in criminal activities.
