Mehbooba Mufti backs CJP protest, demands transparency in recruitment exams

New Delhi, July 23 (KINS): PDP president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday expressed support for the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protest at Jantar Mantar over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations, calling it a fight to protect the Constitution and democracy.

Addressing the protesters, Mehbooba praised the youth for continuing their agitation despite harsh weather and said their movement would help curb corruption, paper leaks and other injustices. She accused the Centre of ignoring the concerns of students and criticised the handling of recruitment-related issues.

Urging the youth to continue their peaceful protest, she said they have the strength to bring change and safeguard constitutional values. The CJP has been camping at Jantar Mantar since last month, demanding accountability over the alleged NEET paper leak and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. (KINS)
