SHOPAIN, JUNE 06: District Youth Services & Sports (DYSS), Shopian today distributed sports kits including Cricket, Volleyball and Carom Kits among various sports clubs across the district during a function organised at Govt Higher Secondary School Sedow.
On the occasion, District Development Commissioner Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin, who was the Chief Guest of the function, said that sports play a vital role in overall development of the students and every student should be encouraged to participate in sports.
He also said that the physiological and physical advantages obtained from within sports activities result in enriched physical stamina and can bring great team abilities and strong organizational features.
He assured the participants that district administration is keen to improve sports infrastructure in the district to enable that the sports talent is taken to new heights.
Among others present on the occasion were District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Gurmeet Singh and members of various youth clubs of the district.
