Srinagar, July 05 (KINS): With the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra witnessing an overwhelming response from devotees across the country, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday appealed to pilgrims arriving without prior registration to wait patiently for their turn, assuring that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to facilitate the pilgrimage smoothly.
Speaking to a national news agency, Sinha said this year’s yatra has recorded a massive increase in pilgrim footfall compared to the previous four editions, with a significant number of devotees reaching the yatra base without registration.
He said the Jammu and Kashmir Administration and the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board have worked in close coordination to provide better facilities than ever before, ensuring that pilgrims receive adequate support throughout the pilgrimage.
The Lieutenant Governor urged unregistered pilgrims not to rush and to cooperate with the authorities, saying they would be accommodated in an organised manner as per the available capacity.
Highlighting the medical facilities, Sinha said a 100-bed hospital has been operational at the yatra base for the past two years and has become a key healthcare facility during the pilgrimage. He added that around 2,500 patients are being treated daily at the hospital’s outpatient department.(KINS)
