Successful encounters a big jolt to militancy in South Kashmir: DIG Atul Goel

Anantnag, 8 June(KINS):
With the killing of nine militants in last 24 hours in Shopian district, DIG South Kashmir Atul Goel Monday said the “successful encounters is a big jolt to militancy”.


“The killing of more militants of different outfits is a big success to security forces and it is a big jolt to militancy in South Kashmir,” DIG South Kashmir Atal Goel told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).


Goel claimed that  successful encounters will bring peace in south Kashmir.”The lives of civilians are saved as they don’t vist encounter sites now,” he said. 


“Huge arms and ammunition were recovered from encounter site in Pinjoora area in Shopian district,” the DIG said.


On Specific inputs about the hiding of militants in Pinjoora area in Shopian, the Joint team of 44RR, SoG, and CRPF Monday launched a cordon and search operation in the area. Hiding militants opened fired on search party which was retaliated by security forces thus triggered an encounter. In this encounter, four militants were killed. (KINS)
