Dr Itoo Chairs DJJM Committee Meet, Approves Action Plan of Rs 880 Cr

BARAMULLA, AUGUST 24: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today directed the PHE authorities to achieve the mission of ‘Har Ghar Nal Say Jal’ under centrally sponsored Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) upto December 2021. He directed PHE authorities to mobilize all available resources besides emphasized to work with added zeal and enthusiasm in this regard.

The Deputy Commissioner made these remarks during a meeting of the District JJM Committee chaired by him to review the implementation of the said programme.

On the occasion, DC approved the action plan of Rs 880 crore  to provide every household safe and adequate drinking water supply. He exhorted upon the concerned authorities to realize the mission well before the set timeline and assured every kind of administrative and other necessary support on the part of district administration.

Dr Itoo also directed concerned to identify the school/hospital buildings lacking the water facility so that appropriate measures are taken to cover them under JJM.

Meanwhile, the meeting was informed that in Baramulla district out of 1.46 lakh households, about 0.66 lakh households have been covered so for and 0.80 lakh households are to be covered.

It was also informed that village action plans are being formulated at grass root level in which all stakeholders especially PRIs are taken on board.
