ARMY PROVIDES SPORTS KIT FOR MIXED MARTIAL ARTS CLUB & HOOP STAR BASKETBALL CLUB, SRINAGAR

Srinagar, Oct 01(KINS):. The Army Thursday said that it provided sports kit to the youth of mixed martial Arts Club (Rawalpora) & Hoop star basketball club (Sonwar), Srinagar so as to improve the quality of sports & to generate an interest in sports among them from a tender age.

In a press release to news agency KINS, the Army said that the importance of sports and physical activities along with academic achievements for youth has been highlighted over the years to ensure holistic development of the youth. Continuing with this aim,

“During the presentation ceremony held at Air Field Military station on 01 October 2020. Army provided various sports kit to include cricket, volleyball, and football kit for the youth of Kashmir. This initiative & help by the Army will allow the youth to participate in various sports competition at State, National as well as international level”.

“In addition, a Sports & General Quiz Competition was also conducted for the youth of the Hoop Star Basketball Club & Mixed Martial Arts Club, Srinagar on 01 Oct 2020 with an aim to increase their knowledge base & to generate an interest in sports amongst the youth”.

“Mr Mursalin, Coach of Hoop Star Basketball Club & Mr Rameez, Coach of Mixed Martial Arts Club, expressed their appreciation towards the Army for undertaking this initiative which will help in developing the quality of sports and team sprit amongst the youth apart from making them healthy and fit”.(KINS)
