Srinagar, Oct 31(KINS): Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Saturday said that investigation into the killings of three BJP leaders in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district is on its way to its logical end as attackers have already been identified. DGP who was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Devas) that marks the anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, at Zewan Police headquarters, said those attacked and killed three BJP leaders in Kulgam district few days back have been identified and the investigation into the case is underway to its logical end. He said police is investigating the matter and soon attackers will be taken to task. In a querry, he said it is a good omen that youth who had joined militant ranks have understood the consequences of bloodshed. “It is good that youth are leaving arms and accepting surrender offer during encounter. They (militants) have percieved the repurcussions of violence and are coming back to homes”, he said. DGP added that nowadays youth are taking part in sports activities with zeal and passion. “We are ready to provide peaceful path to those who want to shun the path of militancy”, DGP said. About the Ekta Divas, he said that since past six years, the day is observed across all States/UTs. “Today a grand parade was held in Zewan where contingents of all the security agencies and the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) took part,” the DGP said, adding that on this day, tributes are paid to Sardar Valabhai Patel also.
