Principal Secretary Agriculture Production visits Jablipora Fruit Mandi

Anantnag, Oct 31(KINS): Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production Department J&K, Navin Kumar Chowdhary today visited Jablipora Fruit Mandi Anantnag to take stock of the progress of construction of the Fruit Mandi and to review the progress of Market Intervention Scheme. He was accompanied by DDC Anantnag K.K Sidha, Director Horticulture & Marketing Kashmir and Chief Horticulture Officer, Anantnag. On the occasion, the Secretary was apprised about the preparations for the implementation of the Market Intervention Scheme in the district. He was informed that 96 fruit growers have registered themselves for the said scheme for selling their produce and efforts are being done to persuade more growers to register themselves. Meanwhile, the Secretary asked the fruit growers to sell their produce under MIS at approved rates, adding that money will be transferred through DBT in their bank accounts. Further, He directed all the stakeholders to ensure electricity, drinking water & other basic requirements, besides completion of the roads leading to Mandi to facilitate the growers. (KINS)
