Awantipora police facilitates Police Public interaction meeting

Srinagar, Nov 05(KINS): As a part of public outreach programme, Police public interaction meeting was facilitated by Awantipora Police at Police Post Aripal while Social distancing norms and other protocols.

The interaction meeting was chaired by SSP Awantipora Shri Tahir Saleem–JKPS accompanied by SDPO Tral, SHO PS Tral and IC PP Aripal. The meeting was attended by the respectable citizens of Aripal and Tral areas including various local Imams, religious leaders, Auqaf members, Traders, Numbardars and Chowkidars.

During the meeting, the participants raised various issues including drug abuse, minimum transport facility to far flung areas, exorbitant fare charged by transporters to the passengers and other issues faced by the general public. The chairing officers assured the participants that their genuine grievances pertaining to police will be resolved on priority and the issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.

During the interaction meeting, SSP Awantipora requested the participants that they should take care of their wards especially youth and should check their cell phones etc so as to keep them away from wrong doing/negative forces. He also said that phone numbers of police officers are available 24 hours and anyone can contact police regarding to any social crime in their respective areas.

The participants in the meeting assured their full cooperation to police in tackling social evils. They also appreciated the role of police for the actions against drug peddlers and poppy cultivators.

Participants hailed the efforts of police in facilitating community interaction meeting where participants express their opinion freely.(KINS)
