Srinagar police arrests 03 drug peddlers, contraband substance recovered


Srinagar, Dec 01 (KINS): Acting tough against the drug dealings, Police in Srinagar said it arrested 03 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued to news agency KINS the police said that officers from Police Station Rainawari intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK01AJ-6547 with three persons on board. They have been identified as Iqram Bulbul son of Ashraf Bulbul resident of Upper Soura, Bilal Kuchai son of Aziz Kuchai resident of Nawab Bazar and one lady resident of Jal Mohalla Rainawari. During checking, officers were able to recover 5.5 grams of Heroin from their possession. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has been seized.
In this connection police has registered a case vide FIR No.58/2020 under relevant sections of law against all the three accused persons and initiated further investigation into the matter.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.(KINS)
