Awantipora Police make all efforts to eradicate drug menace, many drug peddlers arrested

Awantipora, 28 Dec (KINS): Awantipora Police have continued its action against drug dealings and have arrested many notorious drug peddlers at various checkpoints and nakas and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
Under the command of SDPO Awantipora, Aijaz Ahmad Choudhary the police here has put in force all their efforts to stop drug abuse in the region by arresting many notorious drug peddlers in successful raids against drug peddlers.
The police have started operations against drug abuse in the Awantipora region. 
“That is considered to be the reason for the decline of crime rate in the police district Awantipora,” a police official told this KINS Awantipora correspondent.
He said that to sensitize the public about the seriousness of drug addiction, Awantipora  Police have organised  many drug awareness programmes.
“Youth, especially those studying in schools are being educated about the ill effects of drug abuse and the preventive measures in the prevention of the drug menace,” the official said.
 People in the area have appreciated the efforts made by SDPO Awantipora, in controlling the resurgence of drug abuse.
“He is acting as savior of young generation by restraining them to become the victim of drug addiction, that literally turns the life of man into a living hell,” Bashir Ahmad, a local said.(KINS)
