Dist. Adm. Kupwara takes stock of grievances/ issues of Ex-servicemen, War widows


Srinagar, Feb 09 (KINS): The District Administration Kupwara, headed by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Mohammad Ashraf Bhat today chaired a meeting of concerned officers, here at Sanik Bhawan to address the issues and grievances pertaining to ex-servicemen and war widows.
While addressing the meeting, the ADDC said that the Government has a galaxy of schemes and programmes in vogue, meant for welfare and upliftment of people from different walks of life especially war widows and ex-servicemen.
He asked the ex-servicemen and war widows to come forward and take benefits under these welfare schemes and assured full cooperation from District Administration for necessary support.
The ADDC said that the ex-servicemen can also establish their own business units and get necessary financial assistance under different government schemes.
Meanwhile,  the ex-servicemen and war widows put forth various developmental and welfare issues before the chair including power and water supply, maintenance of roads, besides, scholarships for their wards.
The ADDC heard them patiently and assured resolution to their genuine demands. He issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for redressal of the several issues raised.
Meanwhile, 25 blankets were distributed among war widows.
This was the second meeting following the directives of the Government under which the ex-servicemen and war widows can meet District Administration on every first Tuesday of the month.
Incharge District Sainik Welfare Officer, Javid Ahmad Zargar, DSWB officers, besides, Ex-Servicemen and War Widows attended the meeting.(KINS)
