Div Com takes stock of Covid control measures at Railway Station Jammu


JAMMU, MARCH 19: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Raghav Langer today visited Railway Station and took stock of Covid-19 control measures being implemented by the administration.
The Div Com was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg; Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Satish Sharma; besides senior functionaries of Health Department and other concerned departments.
The team of doctors on duty apprised the Divisional Commissioner about the arrangements put in place by the district administration and the health department for prevention and control of Covid-19.
It was informed that medical teams are available at the Railway Station 24×7 and all the passengers are being sampled at the platforms.
‘Around 4000 samples are being tested at Railway station every day’, informed the health officers. After sampling, the asymptomatic patients are sent for home isolation, while symptomatic patients are sent to hospitals. Those unable to manage home quarantine are being shifted to MCH Gandhi Nagar, the Div Com was told.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned officers to keep extra vigil on passengers and do not let anyone go without sampling.
The Div Com stressed on dealing with the situation as per the recommended guidelines and standard operating procedure. He urged the people to cooperate with administration and be well informed about precautions and other preventive measures to prevent the spread of the infection.
The concerned officers were directed to immediately double the present testing capacity of both RT-PCR & RAT in view of the recent surge in Covid-19 cases.
Moreover, the Deputy Commissioner and Nodal Officer were told to take into account the expected increased influx of passengers in coming months and accordingly make preparations for the testing.
