Farooq condoles demise of Dilip Kumar, says he loved Kashmir

Srinagar, Jul 7 ( KINS ) National Conference (NC) president and Minister of State (MoS) in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh on Wednesday expressed grief over the passing away of legendary actor Dilip Kumar.

“I heard tragic news in the morning that Dilip Kumar has passed away. He was a pure hearted and gentle person. There was no match for him in the film industry,” Dr Abdullah, who is Member of Parliament (MP) from Srinagar, said.

Dr Abdullah said that Mr Kumar had a lot of love for Kashmir and the people of the valley. “He came here many a times and used to tell me that he wants to shoot a film in Kashmir. But that could not be done due to his health,” the NC president said.

He prayed for the eternal peace for the departed soul.

Meanwhile, Dr Singh said that school of acting was left poorer forever without its greatest maestro. “We grew up…watching his acting, learning his histrionics, emulating his voice modulation.

An era closes and so also closes a lasting influence that eternally impacted our boyhood, youth & later years,” he wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

Considered as one of the greatest actors in the history of Hindi cinema, Kumar was facing multiple health-issues for the past few weeks. On July 5, Kumar’s family shared an update on his Twitter handle, assuring that the actor was stable and improving. However, earlier today they announced his demise.(Source UNI )
