Clothes, pressure cooker recovered from suspicious bag in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jul 9(KINS) A suspicious bag, which created panic in downtown Srinagar, contained clothes and a pressure cooker on Friday, official sources said.

They said that a suspicious bag was spotted near S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Soura on Friday by security forces. “A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was immediately summoned to the spot,” they said, adding the traffic in the area was also suspended.

They said additional security forces were deployed in the area to prevent anyone from coming towards the spot. “After the assessment, the BDS found some clothes and a pressure cooker inside the bag,” they said.

They said the traffic in the area has been resumed after remaining suspended for about an hour.( Source UNI )
