DDC Kulgam inaugurates playfield at Lirow

KULGAM,  Oct  30 ( KINS): The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today inaugurated a playfield at Lirow here.

This is a maiden playfield in the village and was a long pending demand of the youth of the area and has been constructed and developed by the Rural Development Department with an estimated cost of 8.68 lacs.      The demand for playfields was registered by people during the 3rd phase of the Back to Village programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the ACD, Kulgam, Mohammad Imran Khan said that following the directives of Government, playfields are being developed in every panchayat and out of 178 panchayats, playfields have been developed in 137 panchayats already.

He added that the concerted efforts are in place to develop sports infrastructure across the district and to channelize the energy of youth in a positive direction.

ACR, DPO and other officers besides scores of people and players were present at the inaugural function.( KINS)
