Srinagar Team lifts UT Level Inter-District YSS Kabaddi Cup- 2021 title

DC Budgam felicitates participants, says special focus being given on sports promotion

Budgam April 01 (KINS): The team Srinagar today lifted the title of UT level Inter District Kabaddi Boys Open YSS Cup- 2021.

The tournament was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Youth Services and Sports, in which as many as 20 teams participated.

Srinagar won against the Jammu team with almost 18 points lead in the final of the tournament held at Shaheed Aga Syed Mehdi Sports Stadium, Budgam.

Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, the Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza congratulated both winner and runner up teams for their exemplary performance throughout the tournament.

The DC said that special focus is given for sports promotion in the district and efforts are on to ensure more better sports related facilities are created across the district.

He urged youth to actively participate in the sports related activities and fight against the social evils including drug menace like issues in the society.

Lauding the YSS Budgam for holding a series of sports related activities in the district, the DC said the main objective of these tournaments is to build sportsmanship among the youth and provide them a platform to showcase their skills and talent.

The DC also felicitated various sports persons for their exemplary performance in different sports activities on the occasion.

Among others, District YSS Officer Masrat Jan, Dy. SP Headquarter Naeem Ahmad and other officers and officials were also present on the occasion. (KINS)
