Baramulla police spearheads anti-drug campaign with awareness programme in kalantra payeen wagoora

Srinagar, Dec 19: In a proactive move against the rising concerns of drug abuse, Baramulla Police took the lead by organizing an enlightening Awareness Programme at Kalantra Payeen Wagoora.
The event witnessed the active participation of community members and featured key speakers dedicated to combating the menace of drug addiction.
Mr. Ashraf, the Incharge of the program, kicked off the event, emphasizing the critical role community awareness plays in curbing the escalating issue of drug abuse. He highlighted the importance of collective efforts in building a resilient and drug-free society.
Joining the cause, Ms. Uzma from the Prevention of Drug and Dangerous Crimes (PDDC) in Baramulla shared insights into the latest trends in substance abuse and its impact on individuals and communities. Her informative presentation aimed to empower attendees with knowledge to recognize early signs of drug abuse.
Adding a touch of expertise, Ms. Darakshan, a distinguished speaker, shed light on the psychological aspects of drug addiction. Her lecture delved into the complexities of addiction, urging the community to adopt a compassionate approach towards individuals grappling with substance dependency.
The event also featured an address by the District Officer (DO) Wagoora, who stressed the need for collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the community. The DO underscored the importance of reporting suspicious activities and individuals involved in drug-related offenses to ensure a safer environment for all.
The Awareness Programme concluded with an interactive session, allowing community members to seek clarification on various aspects of drug abuse. Baramulla Police expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response and reaffirmed their commitment to organizing more such initiatives to build a resilient, informed, and united community against the challenges posed by drug abuse.
