District Police Kulgam Seizes Illegally Acquired Property of Notorious Drug Peddler Worth Lakhs

Srinagar, Jan 16:In a relentless crackdown on drug peddling, District Police Kulgam has confiscated an under-construction house on 10 Marla of land, survey no 622, owned by the notorious drug peddler ‘Barkatullah Mir’, son of Mohd Abdullah Mir, resident of Buchroo, Kulgam. This decisive action, executed under section 68-F (2) of the NDPS Act 1985, follows an intensive investigation by Kulgam police, revealing the property’s illicit acquisition through trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
Barkatullah Mir is implicated in Case FIR number 69/2021 of Police Station Kulgam and FIR number 03/2018 of Police Station Yaripora. The attachment of the property underscores the police’s unwavering commitment to eradicating the drug menace, garnering praise from the local community for addressing the issue at its roots.
