PM Modi criticises dynastic politics in JK, ‘Vows development & unity’

Srinagar, Mar 07: Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly criticized dynastic politics, accusing it of fostering corruption and nepotism in Jammu and Kashmir.
During his speech in Bakshi Stadium Srinagar, PM Modi highlighted the plight of institutions like the Jammu and Kashmir Bank, attributing their financial woes to the influence of dynastic politics and corruption in earlier administrations.
Prime Minister Modi underscored his government’s efforts to stabilize the bank and foster its growth, emphasizing his role as a guardian of the people’s interests.
In response to criticism about his own lack of familial political legacy, PM Modi expressed gratitude to the citizens of India, whom he referred to as “Modi ka parivar,” for their steadfast support.
He also criticized the “Congress party for misleading the nation regarding Article 370, highlighting Jammu and Kashmir’s status as a victim of dynastic politics”.
Switching gears, PM Modi celebrated the region’s progress in tourism, noting the significant increase in tourist numbers in recent years.
He commended Jammu and Kashmir’s transformation into a popular destination and expressed optimism about its future development.
His remarks reaffirmed the government’s commitment to combating corruption, fostering development, and promoting inclusivity in the region.
The event at Bakshi Stadium witnessed the inauguration of several development projects aimed at furthering Jammu and Kashmir’s progress. PM Modi also announced the dedication of six projects under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme and the initiation of around 30 projects for the region.
Highlighting the BJP’s growing presence in Kashmir, PM Modi pointed out improved infrastructure and emphasized the government’s dedication to further developing Jammu and Srinagar.
He reiterated Jammu and Kashmir’s significance as a leader in India and emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and promote development in the region.
In his remarks, PM Modi underscored the allure of Kashmir’s tourism and rich produce, urging support for local industries and tourism.
He announced the launch of the ‘Chalo India Abhiyan,’ aimed at promoting India as a preferred global tourist destination, with Srinagar positioned as the hub of India’s tourism industry.
PM Modi concluded his speech by extending best wishes for Ramzan, symbolizing a message of unity and goodwill for all citizens of Jammu and Kashmir.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Srinagar drew thousands of citizens to Bakshi Stadium, where he delivered a public address. Despite some route diversions leading to the stadium, overall traffic in the region remained unaffected.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with other security forces, put in place stringent security arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the Prime Minister’s rally.
Top police and CRPF officials were stationed on the ground, closely monitoring the security situation to preempt any potential disruptions.(KNS)
