IGP Kashmir Chairs Security Review Meeting at PCR Kashmir

Srinagar, June 10: Inspector General of Police Kashmir, V K Birdi, chaired a security review meeting at PCR Kashmir in preparation for upcoming festivals and SANJY-2024. The meeting was attended by Range DIGs, District SSPs, and other senior officers of PCR Kashmir.
District Police chiefs briefed IGP Kashmir on the overall security scenario and preparations for upcoming events. SSP Ganderbal provided a detailed briefing on the upcoming Mela Kheer Bhawani and preparations for SANJY-2024.
The officers elaborated on the meticulous security arrangements for Mela Kheer Bhawani, scheduled to take place in District Ganderbal and various temples across the Kashmir Valley. Discussions included issues related to law and order, crowd management, traffic control, and ensuring the overall safety of devotees. Security arrangements for the peaceful observance of Eid-Ul-Adha were also discussed.
IGP Kashmir directed officers to maintain strict surveillance over anti-social and anti-national elements using drones and CCTVs, and to establish round-the-clock checkpoints. He emphasized enhancing the anti-terrorist grid by generating specific intelligence and intensifying CASOs and anti-terrorist operations in all districts.
