Police Recover Illicit Timber in Baramulla; Accused Arrested

Srinagar, June 22: Police in Baramulla have recovered illicit timber in Zandfaran Sheeri and arrested the individual involved in the crime.
Based on reliable information, Baramulla Police recovered four logs of illicit Deodar timber from a vehicle with registration number JK05G-9381, driven by Nazir Ahmad Malik, son of Mohd Ramzan, a resident of Kitchama, Baramulla. The vehicle used in the crime was seized, and the accused was arrested and taken to Police Station Sheeri, where he remains in custody.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 24/2024, and an investigation is underway.
The ongoing drive against timber smugglers aims to protect forest resources. Police actions against anti-social elements are intended to reassure the community of their commitment to maintaining a crime-free society. The police are determined to act according to the law against those involved in criminal activities.
