CEO Gulmarg Dev Authority Issues Advisory for Schools of Kashmir Division

Advises to Plan Excursions on Weekdays; Apply for Permission One Week in Advance

SRINAGAR, JULY 02: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tourism Development Authority (TDA) Gulmarg has issued an advisory for schools in the Kashmir Division regarding visits to Gulmarg on weekends due to heavy rush.
The CEO, according to an official communication, advises schools to avoid visiting Gulmarg on Saturdays and Sundays because of the high influx of locals and tourists. On weekends, it has become necessary to enforce regulatory measures. Therefore, heads of private and government schools in the Kashmir Division are advised to plan their excursions on weekdays, not on weekends, for their convenience and that of local authorities.
Schools are also advised to apply for prior permission from the GDA via email at gulmarggda@gmail.com or by contacting cell number 9622500725 at least one week before the excursion. The application should include details such as the total number of buses, the number of students, bus members, and the mobile number of in-charge teachers or staff.
No school buses will be allowed to enter Gulmarg without prior permission from the Gulmarg Development Authority. Schools are also advised to limit the number of buses to fewer than four per school to prevent traffic jams and congestion due to limited parking space in Gulmarg.
Furthermore, children and accompanying staff should be sensitized to the fact that Gulmarg is an eco-fragile zone. Littering and the use of plastic and polythene in this area are punishable offenses.
