Srinagar, July 10: The Indian Army proudly announces the successful completion of a motorcycle expedition to commemorate the 25th anniversary (Rajat Jayanti) of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Organized as a prelude to the main celebrations, this expedition honored the valour of the brave soldiers who fought in the Kargil War.
Army personnel from across the nation embarked on this journey, paying homage to Veer Naris (war widows), Kargil awardees, and veterans through various events held along the route. The expedition teams, starting from the National War Memorial in New Delhi, were flagged off by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and followed two routes to Dras. One route traversed from New Delhi through Jammu via Zojila to Dras, while the other passed through Chandigarh, Nothing Pass, and Leh before reaching Dras.
The expedition culminated with a Flagging-In ceremony at the Kargil War Memorial, where the teams were honoured by the General Officer Commanding-In-Chief, Northern Command. This tribute to the Kargil War Heroes included interactions with war veterans and Veer Naris. The expedition not only commemorated the sacrifices of the brave soldiers but also symbolized the unity and resilience of the Indian Army.
