Landslide kills two women pilgrims on Vaishno Devi track in J&K

Srinagar, Sep 02 KINS): In a tragic incident in Jammu and Kashmir, two women pilgrims lost their lives, and a minor girl was seriously injured following a landslide near the Panchi Helipad on the route to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine this afternoon.
The disaster occurred when a large boulder dislodged by the landslide fell onto the pilgrimage track, resulting in the instant death of one woman. Two other pilgrims were critically injured in the incident. Unfortunately, one of the injured women later succumbed to her injuries while the minor girl is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The landslide, along with shooting stones, has blocked the pilgrimage track, prompting immediate action from the disaster management team of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, which has reached the site to assess the situation and clear the path.
Authorities are monitoring the area closely to prevent further incidents, as the landslide has raised concerns over the safety of pilgrims making the journey to the shrine.(KINS)
