Home Voting via Postal Ballot Begins for Assembly Elections 2024 in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, Sept 19 (KINS): The process of home voting via postal ballots for the Assembly Elections 2024 has commenced in all eight constituencies of Srinagar District. This initiative is aimed at enhancing voter participation, particularly among individuals aged 85 and older, as well as those with a 40% or higher disability.
The home voting process will span three days, concluding on September 21, 2024. To facilitate this effort, the district administration has deployed polling personnel, micro-observers, and reserve staff across various clusters within the constituencies. A significant number of eligible home voters (AVSC & AVPD) have been identified for this process.
District Election Officer (DEO) Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din emphasized the administration’s commitment to conducting inclusive, free, fair, and transparent elections, stating, “We aim for 100% voter participation, ensuring that every eligible individual can exercise their franchise.”
The entire process is being conducted under the supervision of Election Commission of India (ECI) observers and senior officials, with micro-observers ensuring transparency and integrity. The administration has put in place stringent measures to maintain security and uphold electoral integrity throughout this important initiative.(KINS)
