International cricket stars arrive in Srinagar for Legends League matches, ‘Grand finale on October 16 at Bakshi Stadium’

Srinagar, Oct 6 (KINS): International cricket stars have arrived in the valley for the much-anticipated Legends League Cricket (LLC) tournament, sparking excitement as they prepare for the remaining matches and the grand finale, set for October 16 at Bakshi Stadium.
News agency KINS reported that the players were warmly welcomed by officials and enthusiastic locals, who gathered to greet the sporting icons upon their arrival in Srinagar today.
Among the cricket legends in town are Shikhar Dhawan, Dinesh Karthik, Upul Tharanga, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, and Ian Bell. Fans in Srinagar are thrilled at the prospect of witnessing these celebrated players in action as they prepare to stay in the city for the tournament’s final stretch.
Bakshi Stadium, historically known for hosting football matches, is all set to host one of the most exciting sporting events Kashmir has seen in decades. The stadium has undergone extensive renovations to accommodate the international cricketing event, with experts from the United States helping transform the pitch to suit both cricket and football.
With seven matches scheduled between October 9 and October 16, the tournament promises a thrilling spectacle for cricket enthusiasts. Spectators are especially eager for the grand finale, which will crown the tournament champion. Teams competing in this final leg include India Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Konark Suryas, Manipal Tigers, Southern Super Stars, and Urbanrisers Hyderabad.
The arrival of these cricketing legends has already created a buzz across the valley.
Given the magnitude of the event, security arrangements have been heightened to ensure the safety of players, officials, and spectators. Senior officials from Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with other security agencies, have crafted a comprehensive plan.
Speaking to KINS, a senior police official stated, “We have left no stone unturned in ensuring maximum security. Multi-tiered checkpoints, constant surveillance, and enhanced patrolling will be part of our strategy. We are fully prepared to handle any situation and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.”(KINS)
