Police arrests drug peddler in Pulwama; Contraband substance, cash recovered

Srinagar , OCt 06: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police in Pulwama have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance & cash from his possession.

A Police party of Police Station Pulwama at a checkpoint established at Tengpona Pulwama intercepted a suspicious person identified as Hilal Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh resident of Tengpona. During search, heroin like substance weighing 5.8gms and cash amount of Rs 14000/- were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 199/2024 under relevant section of law has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been initiated.

We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
