BJP prepares to elect Leader of opposition in J&K Assembly

Srinagar, Oct 13 (KINS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up to convene its legislative party meeting next week to finalize its choice for the Leader of the Opposition in the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
According to party sources, two prominent figures have emerged as leading contenders for the post: Sunil Kumar Sharma, MLA from Padder Nagseni, and Devinder Rana, MLA from Nagrota. Both leaders enjoy substantial backing from within the party, making them the top choices for the position.
With 29 MLAs in the assembly, the BJP is in a strong position to claim the role of Leader of the Opposition. In contrast, opposition parties such as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) hold only three seats, while the People’s Conference has secured just one seat. (KINS)
