J&K Legislative Assembly to hold Speaker election tomorrow

Srinagar, Nov 03 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will begin tomorrow at 10:30 a.m with the election of a new Speaker as the primary agenda item.
News agency KINS reported that the Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and Cooperatives, Javid Ahmed Dar, is set to move Advocate Abdul Rahim Rather, a member of the Assembly, for the Speaker’s position.
The motion will be seconded by Member Arjun Singh Raju.
Following the Speaker election, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir will address the Assembly at 11:30 a.m.
The newly elected Speaker will then present a copy of the Lieutenant Governor’s address to the members of the Jammu and Kashmir legislative Assembly.(KINS)
