BJP Mahila Morcha protests NC government’s resolution on Article 370 restoration

Srinagar , Nov 08 ( KINS ) : The BJP Mahila Morcha staged a forceful protest outside the BJP office in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, to oppose the recent resolution passed by the National Conference (NC)-led government, seeking to restore Jammu and Kashmir’s special status under Article 370. The demonstration also highlighted discontent with recent incidents in Kishtwar and the alleged mistreatment of BJP MLAs.
Leading the protest, Priya Sethi, former Minister and BJP office in-charge for Jammu, condemned the NC-led government’s move, stating, “This resolution is a betrayal of the nation. The National Conference and its allies know that Article 370 cannot be reinstated under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s leadership. Their actions are divisive and undermine hard-won peace.”
Anuradha Charak, BJP Vice President and Mahila Morcha Prabhari, emphasized that the resolution defies public will and threatens post-370 abrogation progress, stating, “The BJP Mahila Morcha stands firmly against any attempt to revive this outdated provision.”
Neha Mahajan, Mahila Morcha General Secretary, remarked, “Article 370 fostered separatism and terrorism, and its abolition by the central government was crucial. Any effort to restore it endangers Jammu and Kashmir’s development. The NC seems to be extending a red carpet to terror sympathizers.”
Reema Padha, another Mahila Morcha General Secretary, reiterated their commitment to peace, rejecting the resolution as a “political maneuver by the National Conference to reverse progress since 2019.” The protest drew significant participation from Mahila Morcha members across various levels and involved burning effigies of NC and Congress leaders, including Omar Abdullah and Surinder Chaudhary, as a symbolic rejection of perceived “anti-national agendas.” The Mahila Morcha called on the public to resist divisive political moves.( KINS )
