NEW DELHI, Nov 14 — The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached the immovable property of Adil Manzoor Langoo, a key terror accused involved in the killing of two non-locals in Kashmir earlier this year, according to an official statement released on Thursday.
Langoo, affiliated with ‘The Resistance Front (TRF),’ an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), allegedly conspired with two others, Ahran Rasool Dar and Dawood, under the guidance of a Pakistan-based handler. The plot aimed to target civilians in India to incite violence and spread terror, the statement noted.
The investigation led to the arrests of Langoo, Dar, and Dawood following the February 7 killing of two non-locals. Jahangir, the Pakistan-based mastermind, remains at large. During the probe, authorities recovered the weapon and ammunition linked to the crime from a 10 marla property transferred to Langoo’s father in Zaldagar, Srinagar.
On Wednesday, the NIA attached this property under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, as part of its ongoing effort to dismantle terror networks in Kashmir. Langoo, who was arrested on February 12, was charge-sheeted in August and remains in Central Jail, Srinagar.
The NIA reiterated TRF’s role as a proxy organization of LeT, responsible for attacks on non-local civilians and security forces in Kashmir, including assaults on local police and religious minorities since its emergence in 2019.
