Police attach property worth 15 Lakhs of notorious drug peddler in Handwara

Srinagar, Dec 11 (KINS):In a significant move against drug trafficking, the police in Handwara have attached a two-story building, including two shops and one hall, belonging to notorious drug peddler Reyaz Ahmad Lone, son of Sonullah Lone, a resident of Badrah Payeen. The action was taken under section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985.
The property, valued at ₹15 lakhs, was identified as illegally acquired during an investigation conducted by the Kralgund Police Station. It was determined that the property had been obtained through illicit drug trafficking activities involving narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. Reyaz Ahmad Lone is linked to case FIR No. 84/2020 under sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Kralgund. He is currently under detention at Kot-Bhalwal Jammu under the PIT-NDPS Act.
This operation highlights the police’s continued commitment to combat the drug menace in the region. The local community has praised the initiative, especially the attachment of immovable properties connected to illicit drug trafficking, as a step toward eradicating the drug trade in Handwara.(KINS)
