Police solve theft case in Budgam, accused arrested, stolen cash recovered

Srinagar, Dec 31 (KINS): Budgam Police have solved a theft case within hours, arresting the perpetrator and recovering stolen cash.
On December 29, Police Post Mouchewa received a complaint from Mohammad Ashraf Naik, son of Ghulam Mohammad Naik, and a resident of Mahu Banihal, who serves as the Imam of Jamia Masjid Gopalpora Chadoora. Naik reported that cash had been stolen from his room while he was leading Fajr prayers at the mosque.
A case (FIR No. 180/2024) was registered at Police Station Chadoora, and investigations were initiated. Acting swiftly, a team led by I/C PP Mochewa, Muhammad Adil Tak, under the supervision of SDPO Charar-i-Sharief, Shri Owais Ahmad Wani, apprehended the prime suspect, Umar Farooq Shah, son of Farooq Ahmad Shah, resident of Zoolwah Gopalpora.
During interrogation, Shah confessed to the crime, and the stolen cash amounting to ₹22,220 was recovered.
The local residents, especially the Masjid Committee, lauded the swift action of the police in resolving the case.(KINS)
