Notorious Drug Peddler booked under PIT NDPS act by Srinagar Police

Srinagar Dec 31 (KINS): Srinagar Police have booked a notorious drug peddler, Shakeel Ahmad Sheikh, alias Shakeel Kano, son of Ghulam Ahmad Sheikh and a resident of Pamposh Colony, Noorbagh, Srinagar, under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPSA).
Based on a comprehensive dossier prepared by Srinagar Police, a PIT NDPSA warrant was issued by the competent authority, following which the accused was lodged in District Jail Udhampur.
Shakeel Kano is a habitual offender with a history of involvement in FIR No. 131/2022 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Safakadal. Despite being subjected to preventive measures multiple times, he continued his illegal activities, posing a grave threat to society, particularly to the youth.
Known as a key figure in the narcotics trade, Shakeel procured drugs from various sources and sold them at inflated prices, targeting young individuals in Srinagar. His actions not only fueled drug abuse but also created public nuisance.
This decisive action reflects the Srinagar Police’s unwavering commitment to combating the drug menace. J&K Police will continue its relentless efforts to dismantle illicit networks and ensure a safer, drug-free environment for the community.(KINS)
