SMC Commissioner reviews preparations for census 2027 in Srinagar

Srinagar, Apr 18 (KINS): Srinagar Municipal Corporation Commissioner and Principal Census Officer (Urban) Srinagar, Faz Lul Haseeb, on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting at the Municipal Central Office in Karan Nagar to review preparations for the forthcoming Census 2027.
All district officers attended the meeting, during which a detailed review of the preparations was carried out. The discussion focused on improving coordination among departments and ensuring timely deployment of staff for census work.
During the meeting, the Commissioner said that the Census is an important national exercise as it provides key population data needed for policymaking, governance and development planning. He asked all departments to fully cooperate and nominate capable and responsible officials for the smooth conduct of the census process.
The Census Charge Officers were directed to complete all preparatory work in their respective areas on time, including verification of staff deployment, coordination with different departments and readiness for the next phases of Census operations.(KINS)
