Srinagar, Mar 04 (KINS): Deputy Chief Minister Surindar Chowdhary on Tuesday expressed hope that the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood would be done at the earliest.
Speaking to reporters outside the assembly, Chowdhary said that both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah had assured the people of J&K regarding the restoration of statehood.
“The assembly elections have been conducted, and we now hope that statehood is restored at the earliest,” he said, according to news agency KINS.
He also criticized People’s Conference leader Sajad Lone for walking out of the assembly after his bills were excluded from discussion.
“He was a minister in the PDP-BJP government in 2014 when the BJP was planning to abrogate Article 370. What did the PDP do when they were in alliance with the BJP?” Chowdhary questioned. (KINS)
