Crime Branch Kashmir raids five locations in Srinagar, Budgam in land fraud case

Srinagar, Sept 27 (KINS): The Special Crime Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir on Saturday conducted raids at five locations in Srinagar and Budgam as part of an ongoing investigation into a major land fraud case.

An official spokesperson as per news agency KINS said the searches were linked to a case registered at the Special Crime Wing, Srinagar, following a complaint of cheating in a land sale deal. The complainant alleged that they were duped into paying several lakhs after being handed documents believed to be genuine, which later turned out to be fake.

Preliminary inquiry confirmed that the land shown in the documents did not belong to the purported sellers. “House searches are underway, and further investigation is in progress,” the spokesperson said.(KINS)
