Vikar Rasool accuses NC of “secret deal with BJP”, Slams local MLA for ignoring Banihal’s issues

KINS Desk

Banihal, Nov 03 (KINS): Senior Congress leader and former MLA from Banihal, Vikar Rasool Wani, launched a sharp attack on the National Conference (NC) government and the local MLA, accusing them of “total failure” in addressing the problems faced by people in the Banihal–Gool constituency.

Addressing a gathering of party workers and supporters, Wani alleged that the NC had entered into a secret understanding with the BJP during the recent Rajya Sabha elections to secure the saffron party’s victory—“betraying the trust of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,”

He further accused the local MLA of “remaining busy praising NC leaders” instead of raising the genuine concerns of Banihal residents in the Assembly. “People are suffering due to official apathy and political favoritism,” Wani remarked.

Earlier, the Congress leader chaired a meeting of party workers in Banihal, followed by a rally to the SDM Office, where a memorandum of demands was submitted. The demands included implementation of the Backward Area quota up to 20 percent, reduction in electricity bills, and immediate filling of vacant posts in Banihal Hospital, particularly that of a gynecologist, which has been lying vacant for several months.

Wani warned that if the government fails to respond to public concerns, the Congress will intensify its agitation across the constituency. “The people of Banihal have been misled with hollow promises. Now, they demand accountability and action,” he said.(KINS)
