J&K Police conduct raids on members of banned irganisation Jamaat-e-Islami in Kulgam

KULGAM, Nov 12 (KINS):In a major crackdown on the banned organisation Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), Jammu and Kashmir Police carried out raids at over 200 locations across Kulgam district. The searches targeted the houses and premises of JeI members and their associates as part of a sustained campaign to dismantle the terror ecosystem and its support networks at the grassroots level.

Over the past four days, more than 400 Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) have been conducted across various parts of the district. These operations covered the premises of Over Ground Workers (OGWs), Jammu and Kashmir Network of Proscribed Persons (JKNOPs), previous encounter sites, and suspected hideouts of active and neutralized terrorists.

As a result, around 500 individuals affiliated with JKNOPs and other banned outfits were questioned, with many bound down under preventive laws and shifted to District Jail Mattan, Anantnag.

During the raids, police seized incriminating materials and digital devices, while several JeI members were interrogated to further uncover and disrupt networks aiding terrorism in the region.

Reaffirming its firm commitment, the J&K Police stated that it remains steadfast in its zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and its ecosystem, ensuring that no element is allowed to disturb peace and public order in the district.(KINS)
