Minor girl found dead in Budgam village, probe underway

Budgam, May 24 (KINS): A minor girl who had gone missing from Galwanpora village in central Kashmir’s Budgam district was found dead in a nearby field on Sunday morning.
An official said the girl had gone missing on Saturday, following which family members and local residents launched a search operation in the area.
He said the body was recovered from a nearby field on Sunday morning, triggering shock and grief among residents of the village.
The deceased has been identified as Ahnam Farooq, daughter of Farooq Ahmad.
Meanwhile, police have reached the spot and taken cognizance of the incident. Legal proceedings have been initiated while further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death. (KINS)
