Demographic changes panel meets Amit Shah, to begin visits to States and UTs

Srinagar, July 1 (KINS): The High-Level Committee on Demographic Changes on Wednesday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and briefed him on its plan to begin visits to states and Union Territories for a ground-level assessment of demographic shifts.

Headed by retired Justice Prakash Prabhakar Navlekar, the committee informed Shah that it has prepared a detailed questionnaire to collect information from states and UTs ahead of the visits to facilitate meaningful discussions.

Shah assured the panel of full support from the Union Home Ministry and directed Home Secretary Govind Mohan to extend all necessary assistance. He also urged the committee to submit its recommendations at the earliest.(KINS)
