Srinagar, July 20 (KINS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in separate rain-related tragedies in Doda and Poonch districts, and directed the administration to ensure immediate relief and assistance to the affected families.
The Chief Minister condoled the death of three persons in shooting-stone incidents at Raggi Nallah and Jathi Ganika in Doda district, in which six others were injured. He directed the district administration and health authorities to provide the best possible medical care to the injured and extend all necessary assistance to the bereaved families.
Omar Abdullah also expressed sympathy with the families who lost livestock in a lightning strike at Mal Pathar Dhar, reiterating the government’s commitment to supporting people affected by natural calamities.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed profound sorrow over the death of seven persons, including women and children, in a rain-triggered landslide at Domail Dhok Nandichool in the Loran area of Poonch district.
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and directed senior officials to ensure immediate relief, rehabilitation and all possible assistance to those affected while closely monitoring the situation on the ground.
Both the Chief Minister and the Lieutenant Governor assured that the administration would provide every possible support to the affected families in the wake of the tragedies.(KINS)
