Srinagar, July 22 (KINS): Minister for Health and Medical Education Sakina Itoo on Wednesday said that Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri has been granted approval for 50 additional MBBS seats, increasing its annual intake from 100 to 150 students.
She said the approval comes after the successful enhancement of MBBS seats at Government Medical College Jammu and Government Medical College Srinagar, marking another major step towards expanding medical education in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sakina Itoo credited Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s leadership for the achievement, saying the government is committed to strengthening medical education and creating more opportunities for students aspiring to become doctors.
She added that increasing the number of MBBS seats will help produce more qualified medical professionals and contribute to building a stronger and more accessible healthcare system for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister reiterated that the government will continue to focus on improving healthcare infrastructure and expanding educational opportunities across the Union Territory.(KINS)
