Srinagar, July 22 (KINS): In a major security operation, Ganderbal Police carried out coordinated raids across the district and detained more than 100 suspected Over Ground Workers (OGWs) for questioning and verification.
The operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs and a detailed assessment of the prevailing security situation. Multiple police teams simultaneously conducted raids at various locations across the district to identify and dismantle networks suspected of providing support to anti-national and terrorist elements.
Police said the detained individuals are being questioned in accordance with the law to verify their possible involvement, if any, in activities prejudicial to the security of the Union Territory.
The operation is part of the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s ongoing efforts to identify, disrupt, and dismantle terror-support networks while ensuring the safety and security of the public.
Police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace, preserving communal harmony, and ensuring a secure environment for all citizens. They added that strict legal action will continue against anyone found involved in activities that threaten public order or national security.(KINS)
