Srinagar, Sep 10 (KINS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday called for a safe, secure and sustainable space domain based on international law, dialogue and global cooperation.
Virtually addressing the first International Space Summit, Modi said scientific data should serve the common good with openness and integrity, stressing the need for cooperation over confrontation as space becomes increasingly crowded.
Highlighting India’s space achievements, he said ISRO’s technologies and partnerships benefit not only India but countries across the world. He noted that more than 430 satellites from 34 countries have been launched on Indian rockets.
Modi said India aims to establish its own space station by 2035 and send an Indian astronaut to the Moon by 2040, while ensuring that the benefits of space exploration reach humanity at large.
He also highlighted the growing role of India’s private space sector and invited France and other countries to partner in India’s next phase of space exploration.(KINS)
