Tral, Sep 18 (KINS): A protest was held in Tral on Friday morning over the alleged lack of adequate healthcare facilities at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tral, with protesters demanding improved services and greater accountability from the concerned authorities.
The protest was attended by people from different backgrounds and political affiliations, including social activist Farooq Trali, Ali Mohammad Reshi, Bashir Ahmad Jan, youth activist Junaid Mir, Manzoor Tantray, Aadil Ashraf and other local residents.
Carrying placards and banners with messages such as “Healthcare for All, Justice for All” and “No Politics Over People’s Lives,” the protesters raised concerns over the functioning of the hospital.
Speaking during the protest, Junaid Mir alleged that the hospital was functioning only at the level of a Community Health Centre (CHC) despite being designated as an SDH. He also sought clarification regarding the BMO’s duty schedule and responsibilities.
Farooq Trali said elected representatives, including ministers, have a responsibility to ensure that development and essential facilities reach all constituencies.
The protesters urged the concerned authorities to intervene and take immediate steps to improve healthcare services at SDH Tral.(KINS)
