Jammu, Oct 15 (KINS): BJP general secretary and Jammu and Kashmir in-charge Satish Poonia on Thursday criticised the National Conference-led government for blaming the dual-power arrangement for its unfulfilled promises, saying its performance should be assessed on the basis of results.
Speaking to reporters in Jammu, Poonia said the government had secured a public mandate and must take responsibility for its commitments.
He also rejected the BJP’s responsibility for delays in panchayat and urban local body elections, citing the party’s role in promoting the Panchayati Raj system and holding District Development Council elections.
Poonia said the BJP was committed to Jammu and Kashmir’s development, citing the Chenab Rail Bridge, Vande Bharat train services and welfare schemes such as Ujjwala and Ayushman Bharat as examples of the Centre’s initiatives.
He said the party would continue its organisational activities and work towards the region’s prosperity and development. (KINS)
